Hi there! Have not been updating this blog for a few days due to I had been packing speedy bentos for Zo for the past few days. Lately, I just couldn’t find the motivation to drag myself up from bed to make bentos and sure is glad that the holidays are coming. Hopefully I could find some “inspirations” after the break though I quite doubted it. LOL!
This coming Sat will be one of my colleague’s birthday but since we are not working on Sat (start of holiday YAY!!!) and she is off tomorrow, I had to give her this gift bento by today otherwise it’ll be too late until we resumes work on 5/Sep (Yes, we have a shut down of 1 week for Raya & National Day celebration. But don’t envy me as we had to take “force leave” for them! ISH!).
The birthday girl was born in the year of sheep same as Zo. I had seen this sheep onigiri long long time ago (way back when I first started, I think) from a blog and had been procrastinating to make it until now, which is just the perfect timing! However, due to some “technical problem”, the hard boiled egg cracked in the pot before it was properly cooked. So in order to “cover” the flaws, I had used it as the “filling” of the sheep onigiri. I just used cling wrap to wrap the whole egg with rice and let it stay to set for a few minutes before decorating it with ham & nori. Other goodies in the box are 2 pink cheery tomatoes and a skewer of blueberries.
Zo’s sheepy bento with mayo & meatfloss filling.
I’m not sure if I will be able to post anything tomorrow (holiday mode is set ON); if I don’t, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Malaysians “Happy Birthday” and all Muslim friends “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”. Drive safe and have a wonderful holiday!
