Bento # 388 & 389 - HK & Isabella birthday gift bentos

Hi everyone. How have your weekend been? After nearly “drowning” myself with warm salt water the whole of Fri, I felt A LOT better and regained my voice on Sat. Tho still feeling a bit of sore throat (specially the waking-up moment), but it was nothing compared to Thu/Fri. Hence I was able to prepare 2 gift bentos for 2 very special sisters.

It was our Pastor daughters’ birthday yesterday (H - the youngest whom is same age as Zo) and this coming Wed (R- the eldest whom is already an “adult”). It was pretty easy for H since she is same age as my Zo (she is btw, one of Zo’s buddy in Sunday School) so it was pretty easy for me to know what girls that age likes. So her’s was a HK butter & sugar toast in a HK gift bento box. I added in a HK choco cookie, some Éclair chocs, cherry tomatoes & seedless grapes as treats. Simple yet easily charmed a 8-years old heart.
As for R – I got to know that she likes the cartoon (hey, even adults also deserve to keep a part of her childhood with her right?!) Phineas & Ferb (actually I personally kinda like this cartoon myself too LOL!) and her favorite character was Isabella. She is a very cute girl with the ever famous tag-line of hers “Hey, whatcha doin?” (in a very very cute tone). Hahaha. I happened to came across this super sifu’s blog weeks ago that she had been making Phineas & Ferb series bento which came in as my “perfect savior”. What I love most of this sifu was that she made the “awesomest” bento using the simplest ingredients and tools. I had taken her idea of Isabella with a slight twist of my own make-doing with the ingredients I have. Both girls were really thrilled and happy with the bentos and I’m very glad that I managed to add some joy to their already happy birthdays.
