I have friends and colleagues whom have been asking me if I pack bento for Zo everyday. Well, I do as long as it’s a school day because my dear picky princess is still not “open” to the idea of buying canteen food on her own yet (not to mention the canteen food sucks!). So as long as she goes to school, I will need to pack her a bento. But, just as some of the working bento-packing mum, I don’t always have the time to make kyraben (cute character bento) though I will try my best to make the bento as “interesting” as I could and if I have it, I’ll spend more time on the fine details. But sometimes, the soul is willing but the brain just won’t budge at all – if you are on the same boat as me you’ll understand perfectly how I feel. So what do I do during these periods? I’m sure all the bentoing mum would unanimously shout out – bento tools and decos!!! LOL! So hubbies listen (read) up, we do not just buy buy buy and spend on the tools for no reason (tho sometimes we do as they are so darn irresistable… hahaha), these tools (pics, cute barans etc) are real live savers specially when one’s brain is so blank and uninspired and trying not to be late for work. So hubs keep your peace otherwise you take over the bento packing department! {evil grins}
I’m taking today’s post as the opportunity to thank my sweet sweet niece for all the goodies she got for my girls from all around the world (she is a flight stewardess). And one of them “saved” my life today – the HK choco cookie! Zo had actually requested to have one at home last night but I told her off! The price and the inconveniences for my niece to bring them back to us aside, how can I let her just “waste” my “life savers” like that?! {muahaha… evil mum strikes} Since the HK cookie is already cute enough to kill, all I need to do is to decorate the fruits with some food picks and done! Isn’t it easy? Oh, I also added-in 2 M&S fruit juice gummies as treat after seeing Zo with the disappointed face (after being shooed off by me).
